He grew up during the time when native Africans were oppressed by the ruling white elite.  After Graduating and marrying Nelson struggled to bring equality to South Africa. Because of this he was arrested.  After a show case trial which gained him World Support he was sentence to life imprisonment. From 1964 to 1988 Nelson Mandela was impersioned.  He was later released thanks to many friends.  From 1990 to 1991 Nelson went on a tour to gain worldwide support to end apartheid.  Thanks to embargoes and political pressure for other countries ended apartheid. In 1994 people he ran for president.  After wining the election many thought he would commit to a genocide against the white elite. However he perched forgiveness and to brake down the barriers between white and black.  Also she his term ended instead of taking control he stepped down.  Saying he had done enough.  Proving he was a great man.  

People like him come once every few generations and only when there are times of trouble.  He proved himself by preaching none violence like the leader Gondi and Martin Luther King Jr.  He also gave up power like are president George Washington.  Proving himself a man among man.  A true man for peace.
